For the first time in recent history, the 2007 Houston Summer Boat Show will feature live fishing demonstrations in a 5,000-gallon aquarium known as the "Bass Tub".
While expert fishermen stand on top of the tub to demonstrate casting techniques, show visitors can watch through the huge windows on each side of the 40-foot long Bass Tub to see how fish behave under water as they "take the bait" during the demonstrations. The Bass Tub will be stocked with up 30 to 40 fish of various species.
The Bass Tub is the brainchild of Chuck Devereaux of Ada, Oklahoma. A professional on the Bassmaster Tournament Trail, Chuck developed the first Bass Tub in 1990. There are currently six tubs traveling across the United States and Canada. An accomplished seminar speaker as well as fisherman, Chuck has made several fishing videos and hosts The Outdoors to You TV show.
Thirty-minute seminars will be held at the Bass Tub throughout the 2007 Summer Boat Show. For information on seminar times, check the seminar schedule posted at the information booth just inside the entrance to Reliant Center.
