SCOUTS HONOR! -- SCOUTS IN UNIFORM
TO GET IN FREE TO HOUSTON BOAT SHOW
The 2006 Houston International Boat, Sport & Travel Show is honoring the Boy and Girl Scouts of America by allowing all Scouts free admission into the show if they come dressed in their uniform. In addition, Houston-area scouts will have an exhibit in the Reliant Center offering demonstrations and information regarding recruitment. The Sam Houston Area Council Boy Scouts (which includes boy scouts, cub scouts and sea scouts) and The San Jacinto and South Texas Girl Scout Councils will be on hand to show off their nautical and outdoor skills to the public.
"We recognize that children are the future of our industry", said Ken Lovell, Executive Director of The Boating Trades Association of Metropolitan Houston who puts on the Boat Shows, "and we want to make sure these scouts and their families keep boating as a means of spending quality family-time and creating lasting memories."
The 2006 Houston Boat Show is a 10-day event that displays the latest nautical innovations of sailboats, luxury yachts and powerboats and where newcomers come to learn affordable ways to enjoy the water from the Discover Boating Center.
