Race fans in the Houston area have a unique opportunity to get a "behind-the-scenes" look at the United Parcel Service (UPS) Ford Taurus race car which offers an "electrifying" paint scheme for the 2004 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series season. A genuine replica of the Roberts Yates Racing UPS Ford Taurus will make a special visit to the 2004 Houston International Boat, Sport and Travel Show, January 16-18 at Reliant Center. Fans are invited to come see and photograph the car. A representative will be on hand to answer questions about the UPS race car and NASCAR Nextel Cup Series racing.

Dale Jarrett, 1999 NASCAR Winston Cup Series champion, is the driver of the UPS Ford. The display car is a full-scale, UPS Taurus, just like the ones fans see on the track throughout the racing season. This race-ready machine includes most safety equipment mandated by NASCAR and even has a race engine capable of creating more than 700 horsepower.

Showgoers can also take a close look at the 2004 M&M's Ford Taurus race car and "compete" on a variety of exciting race tracks inside a full-sized NASCAR race car simulator at the 2004 Houston Boat, Sport and Travel Show, January 16-18 at the Reliant Center.

The M&M's Ford Taurus is a replica of Elliot Sadler's NASCAR Nextel Cup stock car. The car's exterior sports the same colors and decals as the one driven on the Nextel Cup Series racetracks. Inside, practically all the equipment required by NASCAR for safety and speed is still in place including padded roll bars, steel encased rubber gas tank and braced Lexan windows. However, the driver's side door has been modified to allow easy access for guests.

Sit in the padded driver's seat, grab the steering wheel, floor the accelerator, change gears and experience the thrills of being a NASCAR racer. In addition, a Clear Channel Entertainment - Motorsports Show Car Representative will be on hand to answer the questions about the car and NASCAR racing and give fans hero cards.
