For the first time at the Houston International Boat, Sport and Travel Show the only traveling live shark show in America is coming to the Reliant Center. Come and see the 7000-gallon saltwater tank filled with several species of large sharks swimming around with an experienced diver. These sharks are not trained! They are actual wild sharks that are from the coast of Florida! As the diver interacts with the sharks, the announcer explains to the audience what the diver is doing and educates the audience about sharks in general.

If this is not exciting enough, then you can head over to the touch tank and actually touch these feared fish as well as other creatures from the sea. Before the live show, visitors are also allowed to view many different shark items including shark teeth, shark jaws of different sizes, photos and posters of different species, and information on sharks.

Forget those early mornings and mosquitoes. The largest Bass fishing video game in the country, American Outdoors' Big Bass Adventure, is coming to the 2003 Houston International Boat, Sport & Travel Show at Reliant Center. People of all ages can test their fishing skills without having to step outside.

The Big Bass Adventure, sponsored by Pure Fishing, provides all the fun and excitement of fishing with a technological twist. It allows up to six people to virtually fish at one time. Players will be chosen during a raffle ticket drawing. The game is open to all ages, and those 14 and under can compete for prizes including a trophy for first place along with Shakespeare rods, reels, and tackle boxes, Charlie Brewer slider worms, and Hawg Caller & Lunker Lure plastic worms.

Race fans can take a close look at the 2003 UPS Ford Taurus race car and "compete" on a variety

of exciting race tracks inside a full-sized NASCAR race car at the 2003 Houston Boat, Sport and

Travel Show, January 10, 11 and 12 at the Reliant Center.

The UPS Ford Taurus is a replica of Dale Jarrett's NASCAR Winston Cup stock car. The car's exterior sports the same colors and decals as the one driven on the Winston Cup Series racetracks. Inside, practically all the equipment required by NASCAR for safety and speed is still in place including padded roll bars, steel encased rubber gas tank and braced Lexan windows. However, the driver's side door has been modified to allow easy access for guests.

Sit in the padded driver's seat, grab the steering wheel, floor the accelerator, change gears and experience the thrills of being a NASCAR racer. In addition, a CMI/Cotter Group Show Car Representative will be on hand to answer the questions about the car and NASCAR racing and give fans hero cards.

Adventurers James and Dianne Carlin from Kemah, Texas sailed around the world and will share their experiences with the public at the 2003 Houston International Boat, Sport and Travel Show.

James, a retired military man and Army pilot, his wife, Dianne, and his brother, Harold, set out on their boat, September Song, in 1996 after two years of preparation. During their journey they visited many exotic locations including Guatemala, Tahiti and Australia.

The journey was not entirely smooth sailing. The couple encountered dangerous situations including an accident during which Harold suffering a serious injury to the head and at another time, the boat took on water and the couple had to hand pump for 48 hours.

The couple has many inspiring and colorful stories to tell so don't miss your chance to hear about the Carlin's experience first hand at the 2003 Houston International Boat, Sport and Travel Show Saturday, January 4th and Saturday, January 11th. The fish are always biting at the KILT-FM Fish-O-Rama at the 2003 Houston International Boat, Sport and Travel Show January 3-12 at the Reliant Center. The KILT Fish-O-Rama is a great opportunity for everyone from 1 to 100 to experience the fun of fishing. You can bait your own hook or we'll do it for you! Then get ready for the challenge of reeling in a rainbow trout.

From January 3 through January 12, 2003, KILT-FM will contribute prizes to be given away when a fish is caught in the "live" Fish-O-Rama tank.
